Dear Evan Hansen has been described as a musical love letter to everyone who feels alone. The show takes us into a world where mental health struggles and loneliness meet the desire to be seen. In the leading role as Evan Hansen, we see Martin Stokke Mathiesen from the musical hit Änglagård. Clara Henry plays the role of Zoe Murphy, Evan's secret crush, and Joel Adolphson, known from the group I Just Want To Be Cool, plays the role of Evan's family friend Jared Kleinman. On stage, they are joined by beloved Sussie Eriksson and actor Peter Eggers, an ensemble of experienced artists from the musical theater scene, and a live orchestra led by Nils-Petter Ankarblom.
DEAR EVAN HANSEN tells the story of young Evan Hansen, whose quest for belonging and validation leads him down a complex path filled with challenges and discoveries. Evan is in High School where he struggles to find his place. He suffers from social anxiety, has no friends, and others see him as strange. Or they don't see him at all. When a boy at school takes his life, a misunderstanding leads the boy's parents to believe that their son and Evan were best friends. Evan doesn't correct the misunderstanding; instead, he sees a chance to fit in, to become somebody. Evan grows closer to the deceased boy's family, and at the memorial service at school, Evan gives a moving speech that spreads and is praised on social media. Suddenly Evan is somebody. He's not alone anymore. But it's all built on a lie...
