About the show
Höga kusten is a beautiful fairy tale”
After an overwhelming success and completely sold-out premiere summer, Bygdespelet Höga Kusten returns in summer 2026 for the last time.
A story filled with love and dreams. In one of Sweden’s most scenic environments, at the mouth of the Ångerman River, we present a musical story filled with love, dreams, and songs by Tomas Ledin.
The show pays tribute to a bygone era, when the sawmill men and women laid the foundation for modern Sweden. A story about the power of pulling together is more important than ever in our time.
“Höga kusten is a beautiful fairy tale,” says Tomas Ledin, “but it was born from reality.
My grandfather was auctioned off as a little boy and grew up to become a sawyer in the Lövvik area, later to find love and face military rifle barrels in Ådalen 1931.”
